Jesus vs. Tithes and Offerings

Where on earth do preachers find it in God's Word that money "activates" the preached Word?

If the Bible says that God's Word is dead without His Spirit revealing it to us, (2 Corinthians 3:6) then why do preachers ask that we use money to make the Word come alive in our life?

2 Corinthians 3:6 (AMP)

6 [It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive.

Have we become so arrogant that we think money can bring life to dead Word? How much did the disciples pay for Jesus to come to life? Is that too harsh? Amazing that we are offended by a statement like that, but we don't mind a preacher telling us from the pulpit that money activates the Word of God in your life. And if Jesus is God's Word and our Healer, then why do we need a "love-offering" i.e. money to activate His promises or His healing in our lives?

Matthew 6:24

24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or [whatever is trusted in).

Since when do we trust in money to activate the supernatural?

To me it is nothing short of witchcraft. You pay for "new age" healings, and you pay to have your palm read, but according to my beliefs and the Bible that I read...everything was paid for on the cross. The Gospel is free - the end. No if's or but's, IT IS FREE!

Give your money to the church. It is a good thing. Give more than what you think is enough, there is a whole world that needs to be reached by our churches through our giving, but don't be fooled by fools who think that money has any kind of authority when it comes to the activation of anything pertaining to the Great I Am and the promises in His Word.

Luke 16:11

11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the [case of] unrighteous mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions), who will entrust to you the true riches?

The only ounce of truth in this widely accepted false doctrine is that when we worship God, whether it be through song or monetary sacrifice, our FAITH levels rise and we become more expectant of God's promises, and faith will get you in a position for mountains to be moved.

This, however, does not confirm that money "sown into the Word" will move God in any way.

In short, your money does not move God or activate the Word, but rather the Holy Spirit activates the Word because of Jesus. Preachers will be held accountable for preaching anything that gives glory to money, for Jesus should receive all the glory.

God of Miracles Part 7 - No! Not "Bible Bashers"... "Bible Bikers!"

My hubby and I just returned from a wonderful ’glory‘ conference in Cape Town, where Dr. David Remedios, his wife Ps.Yvonne (USA) and their friend Ps.Gustavo Braun (South America) preached and ministered.

What an amazing week!

On our trip we ran into some biker folk. They had travelled over a 1000km on their motorbikes to attend this conference. The most unlikely looking Christians I have seen in a while, but with hearts as sweet as honey.

One particular man drew my attention, and I have asked his permission to share his story. His name is Sampie Holmes. There is not much difference between him and the rest of the ’Bomb-shelter‘ brothers, other than the fact that he only has one arm.

His life-story however, is far more interesting than the mere fact that he is a one-armed biker! It turns out that he has only been saved for 8 months. He told me that he was a complete alcoholic and drug addict for close to 30 years. There used to be a time in his life, when he was a millionaire, but his addictions had cost him all that he had...

I asked him how he managed to get himself rehabilitated, and looking so healthy; his answer was amazing. He said that he woke up one day and told Jesus that he just could not bear his life the way it was any longer, and earnestly asked Jesus to heal him, so He did. Yup, just like that. He was healed. Never endured one minute's worth of withdrawal symptoms, and although he is surrounded with temptation all the time, he has no intention or desire to return to his old life. Instead he is sold out for Jesus and scoots around with the ’Gentle Giant Jesus Freaks’. I know they don't mind me calling them Jesus freaks, because they identified my husband as also being one, and honoured him by giving him a bandana with the words 'Jesus freak‘ on it.

I love it when Christians are completely out of the box and wholly/holy into Jesus!
